I know exactly the plate you are talking about as for what caused the damage wow not sure.Check rock trap for object's there.Also would look at feederhouse attachment's top and bottom for securement as something had to give.Maybe check feederhouse chain for damages of foreign material's.Once we took our feederhouse off and when we put it back on that plate was on the wrong side of the holding bracket's.let us know if you get it figured out goodluck.

I think we found the problem. We did have the feederhouse off to update the front beater to the rotor with the spiral type. When they replaced the feeder house some how the plate was binding on the frame of the machine on the left side. We found this when we had the plate out to replace the shaft. We trimed the left side of the plate to allow it to move freely up and down before we reasembled the whole thing. Don't know for sure why after 4 years this showed up but since doing the repair I have had no problems.
