I run two r72's, we will be running a 8780xp next year for a 100 hr lease. I have been looking at it pretty close for a couple years. The massey and gleaner combines(convetional and rotary) are all built in Heston Ks all on the same assy. line. It does have a hydrostat rotor drive the benifit to that is it can maintain a constant rotor speed at different load ranges. the best thing I see is it has a lot less moving parts than any other combines. No variable speed belts no drive chains and since there isn't a rotor to turn when engaging the sep clutch it should be very reliable. all I can see it needs is accel rolls and distribution augers.
