Combines 8780xp electrical problemsIJ

We just got a 2000 8780XP. We traded are 98 8780 for it. We loved our 8780 no problems with electrical. We looked at the same machines your looking at. The 8780's are alot better machine than the 2388. If you pick up any kind of rock you will have to replace rotor on IH. The massey's have a stone trap. Hope info helps, we love our MF.

I have not had any electrical problems with my 2002 8780xp. They are the best kept secret in combines. You will be pleased with a Massey.

You can get a 2388 with a stonetrap or field install one if it doesn't have one.

Had a 1998 8780. Was my worst nightmare. Electrical problems were rampant. Other problems were also way to common for the new machine too. I hate that combine. However, just that particular combine. Traded it last year on a new XP, and I love it. I believe I got a "lemon" 8780, and had faith in massey to get me a quality combine. I've got it now with my XP. Massey is simply the best machine out there.
