Not only change the fuel filter but there is a screen in the fuel line. The book will show you where it is . I checked mine before harvest it was not clean. The machine had 30 or so hours. They have had trouble with the clamps on the air to air so you shoud check those. have fun

The fuel filter was changed when put in storage last fall. I did change the filter again today and cleaned the in-line filter as per the owners manual. It is better but still seems to surge when going down the road in H2 with machine engaged. Don't know yet what cummins is going to say. Also found out today that the previous owner had to replace the lift pump twice last year. Thanks for the input...

I ran into the same thing on my 8570, I changed the filters and checked the pump, but it there was a small restiction in in the fuel line between the tank and the fliter under the tank. It ran fine under no load, but had no power and surging under load. It apeared to have enough fuel flow until, I blow air back into the tank then the flow was double.

The problem is that the rotor speed control is to sensitive and the electronic engine and or rotor speed control are overshooting and the other is trying to compensate. Have your dealer install new software in rotor controller or put some load on engine and surge will go away.

Had the machine in filed yesterday and indeed when under full load the surging goes away. The dealer ship mechanic and area rep both were out and said the same thing. Cummin says that the rev limiter on the motor is very sensitive and not under load may be over compensating. Thanks for the advice. Jon ND
