Combines 8780xp vs 2388

[8780XP]

Owned a new 8780 for seasons 00, 01, and 02 and just traded it for demoed 8780xp for 03. Watch out for electrical problems. First one was a nightmare and the dealer still can't find whats wrong. XP seems fine, but still need to get a harvest under its belt. As far as capacity, I run alongside an 88 in my area sometimes and we run neck and neck "most" of the time. In high yielding or sloppy conditions, he may have a small edge on me. However, the simplicity and ease of maintenance on the XP is far better than the 88 giving it the edge for me.

I to went from a 8780 to a 8780xp. I liked both machines but the xp has alot of improvements. I think capacity should be close and the Massey is very simple and will do a better job. good luck

a couple of years ago we had a demo 8780 xp and it ran circles around our 2188, did a better job, and was a lot simpler mechanically. we ran a 9790 demo this year and it is a better machine yet than the 8780 xp, now if we could just afford it!
