Combines 8780xp vs 9690

I own A 8780xp and have put a littel time in a 9690. The 9690 has the better fan,better hydro,bigger grain tankand heavier rear axle and hubs.The rotor is an improvement in tougher crops but I don't think you will see much difference in easy threshing crops. I like the cab on the 8780 better and where they put the air conditioning is easy to clean and service.On the 8780xp the brakes are on the final drives whitch is better in the hills. If you break A drive line you still have brakes and I cut 30% plus hills.

Its good to see satisfied massey harvestor owners, I think you would really like the 9690 the cab in my opinion is really nice.

Hey, We demoed a 9790 and liked it. The controls were easy to use. The cab was alot nicer then our R-62. The A_C was alot better in the Massey. I would go with the 9690. MF 9790

 

[Illinois_Gleaner]

The cab is the same as a gleaner now.They are just an updated cab off of your R62.They also have the cleaning fan final drives and rear axels from the Gleaner.It wont be long before they are the same except the outside color I am sure.I dont see that as a problem because I think they are the 2 simplest combines on the market right now.The Massey also has the Gleaner heads on it now .
