pt, I read your post below yesterday and thought eiher a 925 or a 224 flex would be what you need. A 224 is not as nice as the 925, but it does cost way less and would be more compatible with with no DAM. I am facing the same problem you are - I have a 7700 with no DAM and I want that option. I'm going to look for a salvage unit w_ DAM and install it. I would think the things you might need to install a system is an accumulator, the system itself and a compatible header, let me know what you think. 95man

I used a new 930 flex head on my 7720 II. Since I had the Dial-a-Matic, I only purchased the harness to make that work.

You can install the DAM on your combine for about $650.00 for the parts. Not too difficult to install, takes about 1 1_2 hours. Well worth the $$

Discussed my options with one of my JD dealers and stated most of the 8820s in their parts run the 925 and not the 930. But if the 7720 would carry it then the 8820 should - something to think about. Thanks for the info. Here in North Texas, I only know one guy that runs a flex and I am going to look at his. Thanks again.

Where can you get the parts - JD, salavage yard or after market. Thanks for the info. What I heard once you have you never go back.

Per the above post maybe I will add. I talked with the dealer in Marysville, KS and they stated the 224 would be very hard to find and would not be in good shape if found one. He stated there was plently of 220 flex - alittle to small. As I stated below - I heard that once you have the DAM you will not go back. One day I guess we will have the $ to buy the updated equipmentIJIJIJIJIJ Have a good one.
