Combines 8820 chopper alarm

We have the same setup on our 7720 and have to connect the two sensor wires together so the alarm will stop going off. Hope this helps.

Oh yeah, about the fan-you may want to check it with a hand held tachometer to make sure your tach on the machine is accurate. Then check the secondary countershaft speed and the sprockets that run the fan sheave to make sure that someone hasn't changed them from stock. I think that the speeds for all the major components are listed in the owner's manual. If not they are surely found in the tech manual.

The 2 wires to the straw chopper sensor need to be hooked together and GROUNDED to kill the alarm. The most common fan speed problem is....the bearing on the drive sheave goes out.This ruins the sheave. When your fan is set at the high speed, the fan drive belt should be riding high on the top sheave. The fan sheaves have a roll pin that may be broken. Be sure the roll pin is in both the driver and driven sheaves.
