depending on the grain, we usually run our titan II at around 900. It seems to work the best there for our conditions.

It should run around 900, I have a '83 8820 (not II). Is the belt running all the way out on the large pulley and in on the samller oneIJ Is the sensor reading correctlyIJ There is way to move the shaft out and that will add some space where you can get alittle more room out of the adjuster and push it over 1000-1100. I have not done this but know of someone that did and I was going to look at his machine. The air has been my only problem with the 8820. But 700 max is not right!

A new belt can make a big difference if you haven't tried that. Also we put new pulley halves on the back shaft and that also helped, the old ones were worn on the outer part of the pulley and wouldn't let the belt to the outer edge. I think we got about 1050 out of it after that. Also make sure the pulley at the fan is free and able to open all the way.

You need to check out your pulleys on your fan. If they are worn out your belt will will run down too far in the pulley to enable it to push up to increase your fan speed. You may not think this ajcan happen but what it does is grooves wear in your pulleys and the belt slides to far down to pick up much speed. This is an older model binder and everything wears out sooner or later. I've spent about as much as I can afford on my 6620 and know a lot about rebuilding.
