I bought one about this time last year - ran one year. I upgraded from a 6600. Good running machine. Run a 30' header in 65+ wheat did a good job. My only problem was I could not get enough air out of it. I am going to tweek it this winter. I always had enough power. look at all the belts and and bearings. A few belts and two bearings went out at harvest. Ran over 1,000 ac between wheat, milo and beans. Only needs more air. Where are you locatedIJ How many hours and year. What size header will you run and what crops. Also you can scroll down the old lines and find other comments. Good luck and hope you enjoy yours.

I also have an 8820. You can try the location called "tips"" on this site. Also you can go to ebay.com and search under john deere manual. I have found quite a bit of info from the manuals I have purchased there. My combine has 4500+ hours and runs great! It's the combine I have always wanted. Bought it in August this year, at Dewitts annual combine auction in Sikeston, MO. I have a 220 flex header. Will be looking for a 30 ft. We are in the middle of combining beans here in middle TN. Got some frost damaged beans, and its also very dry here, but still a pretty good harvest. Prayer works!!! Averaging 30 bushels per acre. Hope you get more info.Danny

I bought this combine at Roeder equipment in Hopkinsville, KY. It's great so far! Were exactly are you in Middle TNIJ I live in Mt. Pleasant. I never thought about checking ebay. Mr. Roeder is getting me a manual, they forgot to bring it when they delivered it.

I live in Middle TN, this thing is a little different than the 4400 I traded in on it!! It is a 84 model with 2340 hrs. on it. I don't think I'll ever have to worry about overloading it, I got a 220 head in the package, and I'm looking for a 6 row narrow corn head. We have around 500 acres of corn and soybeans. The dealer I bought it from did a great job getting it ready for me. He replaced 3 belts, put a couple of new chains on, and replaced a bearing on the front crank of the straw walker. All I had to do was set it and take off.
