I'd get the new style knuckles and a couple hex bearings from CaseIH. Then make a couple brackets to mount your old shaft out, maybe 3 feet from the head, and just make my own driveshafts w_PTO parts. Shouldn't be that big of a job, actually.

I am not here pending questions on which brand works better. Just want the make-up valves to work the back half accurately. Glad you guys like the ones you have. I think all brands have their individual weaknesses and strengths. After having Auto-steer I think anyone who tries it would like it. There is no question in my mind that the technology isn't catching on. Noticed the latest NH3 meter uses this same tech, now capable of sprayers never having to change nozzles, clutch packs, diesel injection, where does it end. Just wish CNH would recognize the need to fix this tractor.

The cheapest way to run the head is move drive sprockets and bearing rearward, lengthen drive chains, and remove fuse from field tracker. This does away with the field tracker, but it also doesn't cost any money, just time and labor.

We've converted our 820 and 963 heads to tracker drive by cutting the hex shafts down and adding the pto shafts. Just be sure that you add a bearing to hold the end of the hex shaft and that it is very solid because if it can wobble at all you will be replacing U joints before too long.
