1000 series heads are different row unit gear case assy, longer snapping rolls, more aggressive auger flight on front of the rolls, Row unit slip clutches are different, and the top gathering chain sprockets are keyed on not drilled and bolted. The end roll bearings are greaseable needle brgs or later styles had greaseless type. 800 series used a brass bushing if I remember. Have run slower speed sprockets on header drive chains to reduce butt shelling and set strippers at 7_8" at the front and 1" at the back helps too. Make sure your stripper plates are centered to the rolls and are not wornout were the knives start at the front of the rolls. At least we won't have as large a drying bill this year, there has to be some up side.
