If they are to meet the tier 3 emissions regulations they will likely have to make a change by Jan 01_2006 unless the 8.1 will meet the regulationsIJ Case is doing a Jan 2006 release of the new STX and MX magnum as a result to be compliant, Deere released the 30 series tractors in August. Does anyone know if the 8.1 will meet the regulations in a 9660_9760 come January 2006IJ

Thanks, just to clearify your last comment. None of the 8.1 versions meet Tier 3IJ If this is so how come the 8.1 will still be used in the 9560, as you sayIJ Is deere building all of the 2006 production before Jan 01_2006 or does mthe 8.1 meet the spec in the 9560 and not the bigger unitsIJ

Engine manufacturer's are allowed to buy credits toward non compliant applications. In Deere's case the largest percentage of their engines will go into the tractors. They are allowed to produce a certain number of non compliant engines based on the number of compliant engines they produce.
