You can do cereal grainswith flex header, but not well. The hump behind the cutter bar interferes with the flow of material to the auger. Also, the distance fom the cutterbar to the auger is greater than on a Rigid. What I found was the material will build up between the cutterbar and the auger then go in as a lump. If you do decide to go with the Flex in cereals, make sure you have thehydraulic Fore and Aft on the reel. It will help.

I have heard that an Air Finger reel will help a lot on cereals. A friend told me he can go the thinner crop real fast with the air helping push the crop into the auger evenly.

Be sure to get the platform auger that has retracting fingers all the way to ends. These fingers help to keep the material to feed in evenly.
