Combines 9400 header clutch

I have a 9500 with a 25 watt UHF radio wired into the Deere harness without the Header problem that you mention. I just got a new grain cart this Harvest with a Weightronix scale in it. The majority of the time the Scale Display shuts off when I key the Mic in that Tractor. This doesn't really cause a problem but is a nusiance. To isolate the problem, I hooked the scale to a small ATV battery temporarily. The idea was to see if the interference came through the tractor power supply. The problem remains so I assume the problem is due to the RF energy created when the Mic is keyed. I even tried transmitting on different channels (I have a multi channel radio) to see if this helped. The problem pretty much remained the same I emailed the Weightronix folks and got a quick response indicating that they feel this can be fixed with some experimentation. I have heard on another farmer in the area with the same situation. You might try temporarily hooking up the radio to another battery to test the power source theory. Possibly moving the antenna or cables might help. Another thought is the seat safety switch. Is the radio somehow activating this circuit to shut down the head as if you got off the seatIJ

You're not going to like this reply, but... You need to replace your armrest circuit board. That IS the problem. I ran across this about 10 years ago. Can't believe your dealer didn't know this as Deere sent a service bulletin on this problem.

We had this happen a couple of years ago on our 9600. Exact same symptoms you describe. We put in a different radio and that solved the problem. It was even the same model of radio. You might try switching radios, should be cheaper than a new circit board
