We have ran a 9400 for 8years with a 4-row-36" head and a 18' flex head. A 9400 will handle a6-row-30"and 15'flex with ease as most of our neighbors are on 30" rows most run a 20' flex head on them . We are thinking about a 5-row-36"corn head to get the tires off of the rows. Idon't think you will be dissappointed.

Yes, the early ones were. I know a guy that has one and when going up a hill picking corn and trying to dump on the go his low engine rpm light comes on.

We've had 2 9400 and 9410 they are all a little under powered as far as I'm concerned. We combine corn and soybeans and have fairly hilly terrain. They will take out a lot of crop if you are not in abig hurry. When we unload on the go in good corn it would pull the engine for all its worth but I don't remember the low engine speed light coming on. I think a 9500 would keep up with a7720 better we've never combined wheat so couldn't help you there .

I have a 9400 .Maybe the first one in CanadaIJ I love it.It has a 359 turbo charged. Yes it maybe a little underpowered but what do farmers expect from a machineIJ I also have a 9500 and the fuel difference is great. I run 20 ft head in beans +wheat . NO problem in beans but in 100 bushel wheat in can be gutless. The bigger problem wheat is walking it out the straw walkers. I have installed risers and beater curtain and I think it has helped. I always say that machine can take what ever you can put up it but it just can't separate it.Farmers in my area opt for 9500 because they feel it has more capacity but I feel that 9400 will do all the work of a 9500 at more reasonable cost and fuel usage.

Thanks for the input. The specs for the 94_9500 at least in the seperator are the same but differ in the walker area, which is where you say the problem of loss occures. Makes sense. The cost of operation is an issue that can add up over time. What would you say the differece in costs_unit are between a 9400 and 9500IJ And what do you think the difference in capacity is between these machines (9500=100%). TIA.

As far as purchase price difference is concerned it dpends on alot things condition,availabilty and where you are located. I have just prior to this fall did a complete injector and pump job.They gave us a little more hp out of the 359 and it made a differrence. To rate a 9500 at 100 I would rate my 9400 at about 90+. Just my opinion maybe i'm out to lunch on thisIJ

I am not shure if straddle duals were ever offered as an option on a 9400 they were on a 9500 which is the same width machine so them facts should stand for reason on both machines. You can put a 6 row 30 corn head on the combine and still fit down the rows but the tires will be extremely close to the rows only 4-5" inches away we have a 9500 with factory straddle duals and run an 8 row head when you measure the distance from center on the outside tire to the other outside tire it is 194" it works fine with an 8 row head but the tires run really close to the row but since we are using and 8 row head it works ok but I personally would never run a 6 row head on a combine with duals but I have been told you can get shields to put on your head so the tires will not hit any ears that may be leaning towards the center of the row hope this info helps!!!

We run 18.4 38 duals on our 6620 T2 with a 6r 30' head and rarely have problems. The only time we run into problems in when the planter operator didn't plant straight or when going on extreme sidehills. But otherwise we never run down corn.
