We have had 2 9400's and a 9410.Don't buy a 1990 or earlier model Deere made too many improvements after that. They work well on a 20' flex in soybeans and 6 row 30 in irr corn, good cleaning capacity but alittle short on power in very heavy corn. Overall we are happy with them.

Great machine! We run a 25 ft. head on ours. like bj says, dont buy an 89 or 90 though. Many improvements made throughout the decade.

we ran a 9400 for two seasons and have now switched to a 9410. run 20' platform and 6 row corn head with no problems. if you can afford it, go with the 9410. it is much more user friendly. they are awesome combines otherwise.

We had the same thing happen to our 1990 9400. Ran it over 60 acres of wheat after replacing the crank and then had to replace the engine gearbox. Ran it one more season without any troubles and traded out of it into a 9410.
