Well, you may think I'm out to lunch, but have you changed your fuel filters lately. On our 9500 we've had this and both times just after dark. My operator also thought it was tough but engine sounds from my vantage point, in the truck, told the tail. Hope this helps.

Don't forget to check the screen in the sediment bowl and the tank vent also.

i would suggest you follow the previous posting checking out fuel system esppecially the tank screen.. i am presuming you refuel b4 start in morning and by night time fuel is getting lower down in tank...also check aircleanner system if all ok in the engine compartment the main lead going to the engine computer on the back wall you will find a large plug check this is tight and all contacts inside are clean we had a incdent just recently like yours and turned out to be this plug..i presume it was the cool night air which made it play up but it was a night mare to find it good luck can you let us know what it was when find it thanks

I know it's a long shot but, have you checked your alternator IJ You are having this problem after dark when you have all the lights on.If the alternator isn't putting out enough it will effect the electronic fuel system big time and not give you the fuel and power you need.

I have had a similar problem which turned out to be the Water Separator Filter.

Make sure the aftercooler is not plugged, similar situation happened to us on a 9600 this year and the aftercooler was pluged. Blew it out and havenot had any problems since.
