I was hoping he'd come back with some comment about how he was renting a machine from a crook of a dealer, actually. He's going to be disappointed. On a ten series or newer, you can only modify the displayed hours by removing the ECM and carefully adjusting it with a large hammer.

Believe me, there have been alot more renters unhook the tach, than dealers catch them....and yes, they can be caught.
