Combines 9510

They "generally" are a good unit without to many worries. Being narrower than the 96xx and lower horsepower they gernerally don't suffer the extra stresses that their larger brother faces. Things I would be looking for or be warey off would include: 1. If fitted with a chopper, ensure there are no signs of cracking around the drive pully mounts. By this I mean there is a belt coming from the motor_gearbox down to a "suspended" double ended pulley on a short shaft, which in turns drives the belt which drives the chopper. Check around the mounts on the side of the combine for that double ended pull for signs of cracking_fatiuge and if so get the dealer to ensure it is aligned properly before buying. 2. Ensure the bearing on the reel pump in behind the stair side front wheel has been greased regularly. Have heard of some people running into trouble changing that. 3. Walker bearings are all sound, as with any other combine I guess. 4. Check that the two uni-joints on the drive shaft that goes down through the bin are both in good condition and taking grease. 5. Ensure the posi-drive on the drum hasn't been over_under greased. Either way it could get expensive. Check the seals are sound buy greasing as per the manual. 6. If blowing excessive smoke, (shouldn't blow much at all unless throttling up) injectors may need checking, (if all other avenues have been checked) as they have been a bit of a rep for being a bit dodgy. Obviously most other things you would look at, are the same as you would look at in any other piece of machinery, but that should give you a start. cheers Bundy.
