The 6068A in your combine is basically a good engine in general. We have some in tractors around here and a bunch on wells. However, I think Deere made a mistake putting them in the 9550s as replacements for the very good 6076s found in the 9500_9510. Moving up the the 6081 would have been a much better choice, although I imagine it would have added substantially to the bottom line. I would think that the 6068s would be stretched to their limit at that horsepower level. They run them in marine applications at that horsepower level and higher, but that's with the aid of water-cooled manifolds and turbos, etc. Only a disassembly and failure analysis will determine what happened to your engine. Hopefully it's something that you can get Deere involved in as far as backing it up. What kind of hours did you have on it prior to failureIJ
