Combines 9600 engine stall

JDrookie, we had a similar problem on our combine, used to die when engaging unloader etc. We also changed fuel filters to no aveil. Fuel was coming through the lines ok, but we found when under load, pump couldn't supply enough fuel. Pump checked out ok, so we cracked the lines and blew them out with compressed air. This fixed the problem. Must have had gunk stuck to the line somewhere, change filter again after a couple of hours and haven't had any trouble since. This was only my experience, may not be your trouble, but worth a shot. Hope this helps

Sounds to me like it is possibly a circuit breaker behind the cover over the ECU. Could possibly be the rack soleinoid.just a couple of things to check.

As my nickname implies I am some what of a newcomer to Deere combines. Could I ask what a ECU is and where it is located also where is the rack soleinoid. Thanks a bunch for the suggestions.

I guy,sorry for my English,i stay at Montreal Canada and i am a mechanic.. The E.C.U is the ordinator for setting all the electronic for the engine.(Qnantity of fuel to be injecte in the cylindre for example,quantity and temperature of air intake and fuel temperatute etc.).He is locate near the engine compartiment at the rear in a black boxe of fiber glass. You have too check if there is a error code in the E.C.U. (Electronic computer for engine).May be check the electrical connector with 7 wires screw at the rear of the pump.Also the connectors(check for corrosion inside) black near the fuel filter.May be there is a ccode 34,35 or 44 in the computer. If you don't find the E.C.U.,i have some picture i can -mail you.Just let me your adress WEEYAHKAH

Just out of interest, I just check the JD technical manual and 38E is "Fuel Temp voltage to low". Every now and then I've been getting 37E which is "Fuel temp voltage to high". When you said in your post that 38e was high temp, I just decided to go back and check that I'd miss read the listing. As for what you do about it.... I've got a feeling I've just got a dodgy fuel temp sensor as there seems to be no adverse effect on the engine power or performance.... as yet.

check to see if your getting the full flow of fuel coming out of the bottom of the tank. take the line of at the petcock valve. could have dirt in bottom of tank. which would cause engine stall while under load.
