The blocks with pins on them that you were talking about are called inserts. They fit on the back side of the concave. There is an upper and lower row. A lot of the combines I look at, the top row is missing. They catch the most abuse. They work back and forth and ware the insert out or break the pin. Especially in tough conditions like running at night. If these inserts are not in for beans you have a lot more trash goin over your sivs and a lot of beans that are unshelled this will carry over because a lot of trash on the siv area. That would be the first thing i check.

It took me almost 2 years to learn my 9600 and I feel I can set up one with the best. A few things. What size rubber does it have and is the back axle in the raised positionIJ Next, look to see if you have a curtain behind the concave, if you don't, put one. Also, there should be at least two above the walkers. I was raised on spike tooth machines and my 9600 was my first rasp. Chances are it is spec'd as a rice machine and probably may not have many risers_fishbacks on the walkers. You need as many as you can. Next thing is, with the spike you probably didn't feel the effects of the dew as would a rasp machine and chances are many pods went though unshelled and the chopper shelled them for you. As far as more loss on one side than the other, you can point your finger at several things. I have noticed especially in wheat, and I run a rice machine, that the air intake louvers under the throat need dusting off during the day and can cause some cavitation of the cleaning fan. Are these beans some grpIV's with green stems and halfway dry podsIJ Where are you locatedIJ
