we grease ours about every 15-20 hours. and give it about four or five pumps

We used to grease ours daily until the grease comes out what is about 20 pumps. That way no dirt can get in. And we put new seals in those bearings once in a while, maybe after 1000 hours. We found out that some bearings need a lot more grease than what JD tells you. The reel pump is a prime example. If you don't grease it every day you can bet on it seezing up soon. Same thing with the variable drives. You can't overgrease those. We haven't had a bearing going out yet because of too much grease but lots because of too little grease.

I agree with dakota. 15 pumps at each bearing daily. dakota what and where is the reel pump and what besides the fan variable shieve is there. You are talking shieves and not bearings correctIJ

I grease ours with heavy chevron ultra duty nlgi2 sticky nasty red grease because of california temperatures in our valley every day usually within 12-15 hours.thicker grease in my opinion is better on a babbot surface with that kind of weight on it
