The other post is incorrect 50 series concaves will not fit in a 60 series but you can put 60 series in a 50 but I think you have to change a few things more that just the concave I could be mistake but I am pretty shure that is how it is because last fall when I asked about trying to find a used set of wheat concaves for a 9660 and the dealer told me the 50 series would not work but I think he said you could put the new ones in a 50 As for you question should you change them if the cost is the same or very close I probally would but I don't think the small changes deere made in the concave are worth spending a lot of money to change it over if that would be the case.

when we went to the intro on the 60 series, they told us that the 60 series was made different on the r.h. side so the 50 series concaves will not fit and 60's will not work in the 50 series, the units we have sold we swapped the small wire concaves with the unit

Go to loewenmfg.com and have a look at the loewen Helical Bar Concaves

Thanks for the info. Have you tried these helical concavesIJ Our main crop is durum so when conditions are tough or kernels are small we seem to have plenty of whitecaps. Still STS does better than 9600s.

Can you email me priceIJ looks like $1900 to replace with same deere concaves. I've got 3 filler plates on middle concave. Do they hook up same way on loewen concavesIJ Guy that cuts for us has filler plates on the front concave. Our samples were identical but he got by with more clearance and a little slower rotor speed. His machine was 03 9750sts with about same hours. Also I'll have a small amount of soybeans to cut this year. Can I get by with small wire set on beansIJ Thanks.
