They aren't doing any better in the corn and soybeans either. Neighbor has one here that has the local JD dealer service truck follow it from farm to farm just to keep it going. My 1984 N6 does a better in the field with alot more hours on it. And the big talk around here is JD's revolutionary 12 row head. I remind people that N6_7 had those 20+ yrs ago. And the response is REAllY!!!!

I had a 9650STS last year in 160 bushel corn, 26% moisture (Ontario, Canada) and it did a fantastic job. Tried it this year in heavy wheat and, again, terrific job with NO problems. Outperforms my C62 hands-down, but it could use a little extra horsepower. Remember, most mechanical problems can be attributed to either poor setup or poor maintenance. To incinuate that Deere (or any company) would intentionally produce and market a substandard machine is ridiculous!

A C62 and an R62 are not a matched set and the capacity is different. lets Talk Rotary for Rotary. Or compare your C62 to a 9600_9610!

You're right! My C62 EXCEEDED the R62 in heavy wheat this past summer, and the STS9650 surpassed the C62 is capacity and grain quality!

And their old 2388 CIH won. They took the STS back today after a season and a half and were able to buy back their 4 yr old CIH.

Then they (obviously) didn't do a very good job of setting up their STS, did they! Seems to me if their recently acquired new Deere was such a poor machine (and their CaseIH was such a good machine, and they are) they would have traded the STS for a NEW CaseIH rather than a 4 year old one! Are you sure they were making the paymentsIJ like I've already said, to think that any company would produce and market a substandard machine in this era is ridiculous! Heck, I even made my Gleaner N6 work the first year they were introduced, and THAT was no small feat!
