If you only lack hp try a power chip. Have heard you can get them in 10, 30,50, hp sizes.

Why dont you just trade it on a cat combine for the most capacity

I think he meant how much crop can be run through and turned into crop into the bin.......not bin capacity.

I cannot find the site that showed the differences between a 9650STS and the 9750STS, but believe me there is a lot more than the horsepower and the grain tank size. If I can find it again I will let you know. In the meantime go to your Deere Dealer, they have all the info. I would strongly advise against rechipping the pump. Here in Canada, there is a $30,000.00 price difference. To me that is a lot more than a larger grain tank and more horsepower. Think about it.

They got you fooled. They are tit for tat if ordered with the same options.

Running crop through is one thing, saving it is another. Run the Deere is you want to save the crop and have the grain quality too.

Straight from the JD Harvester. This is the text of a bulliten sent to dealers. Combine Talk: 114 Publish Date: 9 February 2001 litho in U.S.A. 9750 STS VS. 9650 STSWHERES THE DIFFERENCEIJ When it comes to choosing between the 9650 STS and 9750 STS Combines, some customers want to knowwhat are the main differences between these combinesIJ If both combines have the same sep-arator body, what makes the 9750 STS a higher-capacity-rated combine than the 9650 STSIJ Take a look at the 9750 STS main features that are different from the 9650 STS: 325 hp with Power Boost to 358 hp: The 9650 STS is rated at 290 hp with power boost to 323 hp. High-Output Fuel Injection Pump: Features larger nozzles for efficient high-power engine perfor-mance. High-Capacity Turbocharger: Provides more charged air output to maintain precise air flow and proper air fuel ratio required for the higher rated horsepower engine. High-Power Engine Control Unit: ECU is specifically programmed to deliver the specified horse-power for a 9750 STS while maintaining_adhering to stringent EPA emission control standards. Note:Altering any aspect of a 9650 STS or 9750 STS combines power delivery system will cause unlawfully high engine emission levels, which can result in substantial government fines as well as severe shortening of the engine wear-life. High-Capacity Engine Air Filter: larger engine air intake filter and housing provides increased air flow required at higher horsepower level for superior engine performance along with longer filter life. Heavy-Duty Separator Drive Clutch: A 4-pack disk wet-clutch design (versus the 3-pack disk design in the 9650 STS) provides the drive system with the ability to handle higher torque loads required for the larger front-end equipment and higher yield throughput of this Class VII combine. Heavy-Duty Primary Countershaft: Heavier universal U-joint yokes on the primary countershaft uni-versal drive shaft provide the ability to handle higher capacity loads when harvesting with a 12-row corn head and 36-ft. draper (versus the regular-duty yoke on the 9650 STS primary drive shaft). Heavy-Duty Reel Pump Drive: For increased reliability, a heavy-duty reel pump drive system consist-ing of a larger drive sheave and bearings is featured. Heavy-Duty Feederhouse Drive System: The variable-speed feederhouse features a heavy-duty drive (standard equipment on the 9750 STS Corn Combines; optional on all other STS combines) and includes a heavier variable-speed drive belt and sheaves, a reverser gearbox oil cooler and pump, plus a reverser that has heavier_larger gears and bearings for higher (drive) load-handling capacity. Heavy-Duty (70 mm) Feederhouse lift Cylinders: larger diameter feederhouse lift cylinders pro-vide fast header lift rates for large front-end equipment (versus 63 mm lift cylinders on the 9650 STS). larger Grain Tank: 300 bushel grain tank capacity (versus 250 bu. on the 9650 STS). Higher grain-carrying capacity properly matched to higher horsepower level of the 9750 STS. High-Capacity Radial Drive Tires: 800_65R32 172A8 (R1-W) radial tires are in base equipment (ver-sus 30.5-32-in. 14 PR cleat R1 drive tires on the 9650 STS) and provides the required load-carrying capacity necessary for handling 12-row corn heads and 36-ft. draper platforms. This tire also offers a 15% larger footprint than a 30.5-32-in. tire for increased field flotation. The 9750 STS is equipped with the required features to make it a high-capacity Class VII combine.
