My boss had the larger concaves on his 2388 last year and the sample we got was pretty good, but I told him the sample would be a little better if he used the smaller concaves. I would suggest getting the smaller concaves, since it can make a different. Plus, you can keep it when u trade the STS in for a new one next time around. My dad keeps all the smaller concaves when he trades in the combines, since they are still in good shape. Hope this helps.

i have worked with these machines when in experiment. i don't know what other crops yo will be harvesting or what your yeild will be in wheat. i do know that if small grain is all you have then small wire concaves are what you want, but corn and soy beans are better in my openion to keep round bar concaves and make adjustments to the concaves. grain and threshing quality can be equal and you don't have to change concaves. not an easy job. let me know what you think.
