Combines 9650 STS slugging problem

Hi Greg I'm not to imformed about these machines but have you checked the tension or condition of your rotor beltIJ Reason I ask, I had a freind few years ago that demoe'd a 9750 and we had a heckuva time cutting avg to poor wheat at even a decent speed without slugging the rotor continuously. Not even another 50 feet and it would slug. Deere came out and put on a new rotor belt and that took care of the problem. Ran like a top after that. Hope that helps but worth what you paid for it. I run a 9650 STS. Check your spacing in your drives and your belt. Also check to see if there is enough grease in the shieves. That can have an effect on performance.

Thanks to both of you for the advice. I'll check the rotor belt tomorrow morning. It has been running better the last couple of days as the moisture in the rice has dropped below 20 percent, but it still rumbles more than I would like. Greg

are you sure its the rotor thats making the rumble,and not the feed acc.IJIJ just a thought

Actually, no, I'm not so sure. I'm new to these machines, so I'm still learning all the noises they make. What would cause the feed accelerator to rumble, and what would I do about itIJ Some people have told me that these machines just make some noise in green conditions, and that's just the way it is.
