Combines 9650 STS VIBRATION

I found the four large bolts that hold the rotor in place on the top end loose last week. I believe these are the ones you have to loosen to twist the housing to replace the rotor drive belt. Dont know if this is your problem or not, but might check it. I found mine loose and it quieted down when I tightened them up.

There is some wieghts that are bolted on the elephant ears to balance the rotor,they could of came off..Could be in the copper too,try it with the copper belt off.

Are you doing corn or beansIJ I have a vibration in my STS that does the same thing.

HAVE ONlY HARVESTED SOYBEANS SO FAR.THE VIBRATION IS PRESENT WITH THE MACHINE EMPTY, BUT NOT AS PROMINENT AS WHEN MATERIAl IS GOING THROUGH.MY DEAlER THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE A HEADER VIBRATION, BUT WITH HEAD DISENGAGED IT IS STIll THERE.I GUESS I WIll HAVE TO lOOK INTO FURTHER WHAT A COUPlE OF THESE OTHER POSTS SAID TO CHECK.

If the rotor is out of balance, the vibration should lessen under load insead of becoming worse. On a Case IH with this condition, the first thing I would suspect would be a rotor drive belt worn or improperly tensioned, or a flat spot on a drive sheave, since loading the rotor would cause more belt slapping. Have you tried running with the rotor out of gear to check other componentsIJ
