Charlie, I always thought the CTS concept would work well in wheat, but the one guy I know who had one running (custom cutter's machine) said it was just awful. It was not a 9650CTS. Claimed 8820's just ran over it. Do your 2388's have the standard or specialty rotorIJ Have you modified the concaves or used cover plates to increase your threshing in the Axial FlowIJ Seems like with the rotary machines you have to kind of tweak them for crops other than corn. When you say the CTS had a good sample, how was it better than the other machinesIJ Thanks for the input.

The 2388's are actually rice models so they have the specialty rotor. When I mean the sample is better on the 9650CTS I mean it is basically the cleanest without jeopdising capacity than any of the combines we have owned. We have owned the older versions of CTS's and you are right they did lack power due to the power needed to drive those twin cylinders (rotors). The new 9650CTS however does not have those power problems. They have simplified the design inside slighlty as well.

Bub, We actually do not own any crops as we are pureley a contract harvesting operation. Our website is www.contraharvest.com.au. We are from Northern NSW in Australia near Inverell. We are still currently harvesting wheat as I write this. The crops that we have harvested have been extremely good this year. That is the crops that did not get washed out by floods or have water damage.

"charlie",it's sad to hear that those beater shafts are still playing up. The yellow rotary that was with the 9650CTS's at Cryon is still going strong although bringing it back from NSW the Honeybee fell off it's trailer when it moved to the side of the road to let a wide load through and fell into a deep hole.lets hope the next harvest will be better.john
