Take this for what it is worth, I know there is a few people on this sight that have a hard time accepting what I say, but a local farmer was in a 465, a tracked version of the 460 with a 12 row head, and he told me that it would run neck and neck with his 9750 with a 12 row head, 190+ bushel dry corn, and he owned the 9750. My two cents

FarmBoy's assessment is probably close, although when it comes to outright cost of ownership, cost of replacement parts and service levels, Deere will leave CAT sit in the dust.

the 460 with a 12r30 head in 190+ corn will run around 4.5 -5.0 mph without dumping it out the sieve or the walkers. right now cat is getting "up to speed" on their parts pricing. to be honest it has been a little rough to start out with, the salesmen in my area work real well with the customers to adjust pricing to be competitive. where the 460 really stands out is with a 30ft flex in RR beans. you dont even notice the green stems as they go through the machine. have a neighbor running in 70 bu beans at 5.5 mph and doing clean job. the 450 is actually a matched competitor to the 9650 cws. both run with 5 strawwalkers and are about the same size in the sieve area. has really surprised some of the farmers around here what there "little" machine can do.
