Combines 9690 losing wheat

Do a "kill stall" and shut down the machine when it is loaded like you normally operate it. Your owners manual should have the procedure in it. This will give you a chance to look at the shoe and see how it is loaded and perhaps clues as to how to fix the problem. What are your sieves set atIJ lower sieve too tight will restrict air flow to the top one. Grinding up the straw will overload the shoe. How is the chaff and grain distributed on the chafferIJ

I have no experience with the 9690, but an airfoil chaffer made all the difference in my 8570, and then 8780xp. They are a must in these machines when harvesting heavy wheat.

You have got to get rid of those blanks. Use them as spare sheetmetal in the shop but never ever put them in the machine. They screw up the shoe distribution by having them in. If you are running corn concave, put all of the wires in it. If you are running wheat concaves you get by with all of the wires or every other wire in.

Kelly is right. Start by removing the three blanks and installing extra wires in the front three concaves. Add one blank if you have to and that should take care of threshing and proper distribution.
