Combines 9720 feed impeller shaft berring failiers

We have 9700 and a 8590 the beater bearing's will usually run a couple of seasons, like yours it is usually the left side that goes out. I have been using Agco bearing's, maybe need to look at another brand of bearing's. We haven't had any trouble with the elevator bearging's. Are you talking about the clean grain or returnIJ

Thanks for the reply. I have had trouble with both elevators mostly the clean grain on top. I have gotten my berrings from several sorces last two impeller shaft berrings have come from agco. Maybe I'm pushing the combine too hardIJ running a 708N, use to run a 1183 but parked it because I thought it pulled to hard and put too much stress on the impeller shaft 708 pulles lots easyer. Going to pull the combine in the shop this winter and go through it any advice on what to all look for would be appreciated. Combine has aproximatly 4,500 hrs. Thanks

It is amazing how many of these combines have 4-6000hours on them and are still running - people will rebuild them rather than trade them off. Most of the competition with that many hours on them will be in the back row of the implement lot or in the salvage yard!!!

We are using the 708N too, we removed the trash knives from the snapping rolls made the corn head pull a lot easier, and we did not have any wrapping problems. From what I can read the new feeder beater on the new combines is supposed to pull a lot easier and feed better with out bunching the crop in green material. If the new class 7 combine is the same size as the older ones I would think the new feeder beater could be installed. The info I have received doesnot give rotor size or cleaning area. Maybe some one can post more info on the deminsions of the combine.
