Check pulleys on end of crankshaft (radiator end),If they are loose they could be slipping on the crankshaft they are mounted to. Hydraulic pump runs off these. 3 little cap screws hold all those pulleys to just 2" of the crank shaft that protrudes. This setup has caused a lot of crankshafts to be ruined. I really hope this is not your problem, because it can get very expensive.

Onion Farmer The pulley on the crank isn't slipping. The pump is turning inside. But we don't know if the pump is worn out or there's something else wrong. Do you know of any way to test the pump to see if it's putting out enough p.s.i.IJ

The only way I know is to put a flowmeter on it. Than you could check p.s.i. and flow. Make sure you check easy things first. like is the pump sucking air because there is a bad hose or fitting on the sucktion side. good luck
