If you are talking about the bracing on the top of the main frame, that is supposed to have been done by the dealer at no cost. When I bought mine second hand it hadn't been done but the dealer looked into it and did it at no charge. They also found out another dealer had put into NH for payment for the update without doing actually doing the work.

Is this for any size headerIJ Never heard of the update and have often noticed the flex that our 20' has just from standing on one end of it.

The piece that is added is a channel iron that is about 4 inches high in the middle and tapers down to the ends and is welded on the top of the frame like a cap. I was told that without the extra support the frame bends ahead at the ends.

Service Bulletin 1996_08-C1 campaign723 was to weld reinforcing on 25'-30' heads if the beam bowed more than 2". Otherwise the head was supposed to be inspected for improper welds on the lower beam. This covered 973 heads serialn 560534-580699 and expired July 31, 1997. Also older heads had a top beam that was bowed upwards before assembly. That way when it was lifted on the combine the beam was to be straight across. Newer heads have straight steel beams. I don't remember when that changed though.
