check page E24 of your operators manual. refers to installing additional rotor knives. Also Cummins is coming out with a torque curve update, may be through Agco.
What are your current settingsIJ Also, how is the rotor configuredIJ (knives, reverse bars, etc.) How about losses, any rotor loss or shoe lossIJ Give us a few more details and I'm sure we can come up with some ideas to try.
standard set up,corn concaves with extra wires in, 21 knives in rotor, chopper on,stationary knives out. what is the best set up as far as bars and knivesIJ does a good job but seems short on power.would a challenger have more powerIJ
My Gleaner R65 is supposed to have this update made to it, but Agco wants the dealer or the customer to pay for it. I think they should pay for it since they made the mistake. $600-$800. When unloading the RPM drops about 300 before power boost kicks in (read that torque curve). This was changed by Cummins apparently without AGCO knowing it in 2003. My 2002 R62 works fine. The RPM drops enough to start all the shaft monitors chirping, then just hangs in there and holds the RPM
Get rid of a bunch of knives. At least 3 rows and maybe 4. You can take out the reverse bars if they are in there. That should help your power problems.
Are you sure your power boost is even kicking in.I've been told that agco and cummins got there wire crossed and the power boost isn't being turned on with the unloading auger like it's suppose to.
I would remove the knives over the concave, and replace the 2 reverse bars with forward bars (if you don't have rotor loss). The new rasp bars are more aggressive, and we have found that we do not need as many knives.
