If power is such a problem with the 9750 STS, why not simply purchase a Cat lexion 480 (365hp)IJ

Resale, have you seen what Deere has done to the "green" used combine marketIJ For the past two years Deere has been flooding the market with their new STS combines (ala their "Green Sweep" progam),driving down the price of many late model used JD combines, namely the CTS and 9x10 series. If anything, JD resale is in the dump and never has their been a more idel time to pick-up and mid-late model used JD combine. I don't think Cat's too worried about resale, as most of their used combines are shuffled off to the next owner and the previous owners enter into attractive deals on a new ones.

Boy, are you in for a big surprise. Wait till there is more of a used base of Cat combines out there. Then you will find out what your 5-year old Cat combines are being "dumped" for!

Maybe not all of us have huge bank accounts for a brand new machine. A reasonable priced 9600 with alot of good hours left looks a lot better on the balance sheet of a smaller farmer than a $185,000 new machine. I could buy a quarter of land and a 9600 for what the new machines go for.

But... john do you want to harvest your crop or push it up in a heap, cause the cat gear you talk up is only good for that sort of thing, do you really think that these yellow Claas machines will ever hold up their end of the finiancial coffers of Caterpillar, maybe when they are ( if ever ) really all Caterpillar..I will agree 100% with you on the earthmoving and construction equip.....
