Probably Case issued Deere Dollars to get customers back. Maybe the 9860s were lemons and some of the other 11 came from custom cutters. I see it happen on both sides. The dealer in JD Taber had some 2388s with 0 hours on them.

maybe Deere put bounty money on their red combines a few years ago, and now their going back to the real thing! Deere has not learned buying business does not pay.

I only saw 1 9860 and a few 9750s listed in our local paper. I was told that AgriTrac is being very agressive in their sales program and got a big JD customer to switch color--don't know what was all involved.

Heard at the Red Deer Show that the customer (I believe it is the same farm) who traded this equipment was a long time Deere customer. The 9860 traded was a preseries machine they had (they do testing for Deere). The owner stated that Case made such an unbelievable deal that they traded all tractors and combine for Case. He said he was getting quad-trac and rubber tire tractors, 3 8010 combines. He felt he had nothing to loose, he figured if he was unhappy with Case, Deere would be more than happy to trade him back out if he was unsatisfied.

I heard from the Agtrac salesman at the Red Deer farm show that they took in 27 JD combines on trade for the 8010's. Some of the combines got brokerd out to the US side. They only kept back a few here in Canada.

Yea buddy, You gotta bust your but, but you can have way less expense with smaller equipment and still cover about the same amount of acres if you are willing to put in extra hours at peak seasons.

Of the 17 JD combines taken on trade by AgriTrac, 3 were 9860 STS's. Of the 17, none were custom guys. And the reason the 9860's were traded was because the 8010 consistently ran 2 mph faster than the 9860's in the same field.
