Combines 9880 Again

Yes, the 9880 you saw in the factory was a European machine only. No, the auger was not larger in diameter, on that machine. Have heard other similar comments about current production machines seen in the factory with the large auger. Most likely seen outside some other section of the building trying to be hidden.

Significant changes are noted below. Many shown in red are attempts to catch-up with the lexion features: larger reverser gearcase, ie 16" diameter verses previous 12" diameter. Three point rubber mounting instead of two. 3.5 l oil capacity. No more feederhouse reverser oil cooler on these machines, but may not be needed for EU. Feederhouse reverser is electric switch actuated via the header engage switch being pulled rearward., verses previous floor pedal with push-pull cable. Feederhouses were all constant speed drive with double V-belt verses previous single V-belt. Feederhouse front sheet has header tilt fore-aft adjustment. Front face pivots through a horizontal fixed point and is clamped in place with two bolts at the top, and two at the bottom on each side. Eight to ten bolts must be loosened to make this adjustment. Turnbuckles (2 x 12") on each side are used to adjust the tilt. Front drum has a new handle for easier front drum height adjustment, similar to lexion enclosed front drum lock downs. Multi-link connector consist of five hose connections and one multi-pin (~24 pin) connection located in a square block. Provisions for rotary beacons to be mounted on the front of the cab, rear hood, and two sides. Provisions for white or red light on end of unloading auger to point rearward for road travel in EU countries. Four modules on righthand corner post. Then new the upper ACA module "Automatic Combine Adjustment Display" is dedicated to crop settings _ sieve and chaffer adjustments. Electric sieve control rocker switches added to the righthand control panel and second set on the cleaning shoe light control bracket. Overhead shaft speed and warning display now incorporates 75% and 100% graintank level warnings and indicators. Beacons can now be set to trigger on when tank is 3_4 full. Optional printer can be installed in overhead, top right corner. The claim a printout from Greenstar yield monitoring and yield mapping will be generated. left rear corner of the cab has a cooling compartment for bottles, e.g. two 1.5l bottles. Battery master disconnect added near the engine compartment. Disconnect key is similar to ours but not conveniently located. Rear trailer tow hitch and seven pin electrical connector is installed. Chopper has serrated blades and winglets for additional air flow and throw. Chopper discharge vanes can be adjusted electrically into the wind with left and right bias. Chopper is still very complicated to engage and disengage for windrow verses chopping and belt speed changes. Air discharge ducts added to right and left rear sides of the cleaning shoe. No other obvious increase in size. lower side shields have more perforate area to let more air into the cleaning fan. Electric sieve adjustment motors mounted in the center rear of upper chaffer and lower sieve. Reverse travel, back-up alarm is located up near the engine gearcase, near the hydro. Significant improvement to front axle frame work and gusseting, probably to carry 16 row cornheads. Graintank extensions _ cover doors are a slightly rounded, poly molded cover. Good drain channels. Graintank capacity of 312bu. (11,000l) Fuel tank is 945l (250 Gallons) Fountain graintank fill auger must have a U-joint to drive the auger, but I could not tell for sure. The fountain auger moves up and down with the electric actuator. Grain tank extensions must be directly attached. Decals indicate 15 degree postions. Doors open 75 degrees. 6125HZ004 (12.5l) engine rated at 455 HP @2200 RPM with a 488hp bulge at 2100 RPM 185 amp alternator lower graintank unloading auger gearcase is still open (ie noisey) style with additional shielding. OMM list a 3.8l capacity, but described as loading auger gearcase, so this may be for the graintank fountain augers. We were not able to closely look at either of these gearcases. Outside mirrors are electric remote positioned along with heaters. Circuit codes 436, 487, 488, and 489 are use to indentify which header is on the combine for Header Control. looks like extra lube banks for upper unloading auger gearcase (left side) and rotor bearing FAST (right side).
