We have the same problem in NC SD. Still some beans to be planted here, as well as some fields that are getting ugly weedy. Spring wheat looks outstanding.
way to much rain in se nd. rain here for what seems like a month. some beans did not get planted but may be better off in the bag. a lot of drowned out spots in the fields, and yellowing in a lot of what was a beautiful wheat crop. suppose to clear up tomoro and get back to normal weather.
Wish we could split the difference for both, WC Il, only about 2" at my place since the middle of April. Corn and beans still look pretty good but much longer and we will be hurting. Add in the 85 -90 degree days lately and it is even more stress. Pasture is looking pretty poor also.
We had .2" in Central, Il from May 1st till this past weekend (POINT 2). Corn looked surprisingly good-I guess due to good subsoil moisture over winter. My late beans were looking bad. Got a nice 1" over weekend. Then last night all hell broke loose-3 1_2" in just over an hour. Careful what you pray for.
We've had 8.6 inches here in South Central Kansas from Saturday June 4 till Sunday night June 12. The wheat is ripe and very little was cut before the big rains hit on June 8. lots of creek bottom and river bottom ground has had some water on it. We will start cutting tomorrow and hope the ground holds up. Will be the first test in wheat for my RWA 2388. I bought it last December and used it to cut 250 acres of milo in extremely muddy comditions. The dryland corn here looks awesome as do the beans that were up and going before the big rains. Some later planted beans and cotton are looking pretty tough. I haven't planted any milo yet, June 20-30 is the ideal date for me to plant. Need to get another burndown on pretty quick though. Good luck to all of you for this year. John
