hello some 7050 were dual so you could remove 6 bolt and pull the shaft out and turn it end for end. My dad has a 7050 an it is a straight 1000, i wish it was a dual it would be nice.
Just remove the bolts and pull the shaft out and walla there is the 540 spin it around and bolt it back on. It is really handy on thost style of tractors... We have a 7020 and we used to change it all the time! really neat design. If you have questions just email me. Brent
We had a 7050 with 1000 only hear also. Back in them days you took whatever you could get your hands on. I have went to salvage yard and bought output shaft group and clutch group. Take them assembles and install in 7080, 8070, or smaller tractors that just had single 1000. Not that bad of a job but should know what your doing with this sort of stuff. Good luck
Yes they can be converted. It requires parts from the clutch shaft and from output shaft to be changed. Most parts can be bought from a slavage yard.........vstk
