We had an outfit in Australia that, for a few years, made the accelerator roll lugs out of a reputedly very hard wearing moulded red coloured polymer. Can't recall the exact type of polymer. The lugs only lasted about 1 or 2 seasons compared to about 3 or 4 seasons for the genuine AGCO product in our situation. We then tried bolt-on full length folded channel stainless steel lugs with serrated lips. They worked OK, had no wear, but need a little more development before they would be as good as the originals. We also think that in crops like lentils and etc they were somewhat rougher with more damage and splits than the AGCO moulded rubber rolls. Fully sorted out, they would have been OK in the cereals. Despite the extra cost, we finished up back with the genuine AGCO lugs. Cheers!
