If we have a shoe loss problem with one of them older machines and accelerator rolls are in good shape we will put a straight edge on that area just in front of accelerator rolls and see that it runs paralel to the engine floor. We have jacked them up and welded a little block on both sides to see it stays level. As far as concave clearance we eyeball the rear without the cage covers on at zero clearance and the front you just about have to use some varible thickness pieces of steel threw trap door while carefully turning cylinder. That would be the go no go method. We have a tool made to set concave level before installing cylinder for we normally have rotor out and it doesn't go back in without bars in good condition. Then all we have to do after installing cylinder is set gauge to zero with cylinder ticking. Good luck.
