I have been using long square fingered chaffers for so many years I cant remember how bad the other ones were.

Square fingered will give more capacity than the round fingered,but not quite as clean a sample.In heavy corn I'm not at all satisfied with the short fingered chaffer,I run the long fingered square back in corn and beans.

I have run both corn chaffers, and the square end one cleans better than round one, but best capacity can be had with the round long tooth one. I clean sample some with the lower seive set as tight as I can without restricting flow through shoe. I have never run anything but the regular short tooth chaffer in beans - air on 7 and tipped open near 3_4 inch (have long shoe '97). Would be nice not to change chaffer between crops.

Ramrod, I don't know if this is in the HyperMods, but look up the mod for the corn chaffer. The mod I'm talking about is cutting the first 6 or 7 rows lose, and building another adjustment handle to adjust it seperate from the rest. I did it to my chaffer 3 yrs, ago and have not changed the chaffer since. Makes it nice for me as I'm alone and trying to change caffers back and forth (R-62)was more than I could handle, now all I have to do to switch from corn to beans is close or open the front section. With the addition of the shock absorbers on the feeder house and the upper feeder, I can switch from corn to beans by myself in about 30 mins. Just some of the great ideas I have found here on this great site!
