Combines Advice on auction F2

I have(according to ser n 41252 ) a 78 F2 4cyl w_hyd fold auger.

Some things to watch for--cracked exhaust manifold--could mean higher than indicated hours--check for damage to All wiring harnesses, esp. behind monitors and behind rt. center hand cab post--loose or worn rivets on base of swivel auger, where black goes to silver; easy to replace but if ignored, you may lose the auger! Also where auger tube base is welded to swivel, prone to cracking if the machine has been driven a lot with auger extended. Some have been known to loose the rear axle, but that would be on 4000 hour plus machines--Small spocket that drives the fan is prone to early wear(gets lots of mud or dirt on it) and the usual point to check on any combine. Orange 4 cyl.engine means an early F2 77 to circa 81--later had black engines. let us know how it goes, you will like the F over the K, about 25percent more capacity. Happy bidding.Ben.

I see F2 selling all over the board. Excellent shape and with both heads as high as 11,000....most 3500 - 6500. I purchased an F3 this fall with a 430 and 13ft bean head for 12000. 1800 engine hours.....looks and runs like new. Hydro,433 turbo diesel (nice). I have a late model K2 to sell with a 330 black head and 13ft floating cutter bar head....nice. The F3 capacity was really a big change from the K2. Really like the K2 ...love the F3, especially if you want the electronics over hydraulics. I only buy or run clean well maintained machines... I guess I'm picky. I have 3 Gleaners to date on the place. Good luck... let us know how the sale goes.
