Combines AFS mapping software

Newest AFS software is written by Agleader. last time I checked it nwas about $800 thru CIH, Agleader dealer quoted me $600. The 2388 we bought this year had the Agleader 3000 yield monitor. My son has all the software on his computer. He is using Farm Works. When we had the 2366 it had the small creen AFS y.m. I had the software for it on my computer. IMO, the software was pretty primitive and could be hard to use. Every year it seemed we had a glitch and lost some data. Usually this was in the monitor. Another thing we found out was that a lot of CIH's AFS people were leaving the company making it hard to get help when needed. The AFS rep for our area is also the company's parts rep. She did her best but it was hard for her to do both jobs

Right now things are pretty good in the AFS Area the Desktop Software works great..... And you really need the larger screen in the combine.. Also the latest software versions in the cab on the touch screen was glitch free and no problems So theyve made progress

How much were you paid for that postIJIJIJ Whats the point of the big screen when all you get is far less the pf3000, for starters.. NO mapIJIJ I would assume that the 8010 has changed but I know for sure that up until a 2004 2388, all you got was readout, no map. This particular machine what having all sorts of troubles with his moisture sensor. Which had to be replaced after just one year (out of warrenty by a week. And as for connecting to a gps receiver for mapping, Case should be up on extortion charges for the amount they want for the cable to go from the 5 pin connector near the gear leaver to the GPS reciever, which was AFS branded trimble reciever to start with. Case want to wake up to themselves big time!! If you are going down the yeild mapping_guidence path, buy from the original manufactures, ie Agleader or Trimble not the NH or Case rebadged stuff as your backup will be crap!! Been there, done that.

Don't worry about not having a map. I have the map and it is of no value. It's a novelty but really doesn't do any good. The rest of the display gives a lot of information, almost more than you really want.

Sorry, beg to differ. The map, even the mono one on the old Pf's is very handy, particularly for navigation around feild and finding miss parts of contours in the middle of the night. Plus if you are up to something like the insight, the colour yield mapping gives you a great infield view of exactly what is happening in real time instead of just a number. Very handy moisture wise trying to pick out dryer grain in what areas to top off trucks.

- Now why would you want to do thatIJ lol. A few years back a local elevator banned a couple farmers from bringing grain there for doing just that. Back in h.s. I worked parttime for a farmer who would dump wet corn or weedy beans in the corners or the far side of his trucks to keep them as far away from the probe as possible. Didn't take long for the local elevator to catch on. He took a load in one day and the elvator manager went out and probed only the corners. Talk about some one that was po'd when he saw what he was docked. :~))

No map....apparently your not up to date on the case software its been drawing maps on the screen for 2-3 years now and i seriously don't think thats a great thingIJ Maybe its just me but i can't tell alot on a grayscale map. Also I was correct....The last 3 years or so...Weve had great luck with the monitors and desktop software is much improved

Yeah the insight is kinda different if i had color maps id have that again on Page 2...takeing up the hole page and might actually look at it... But still Harvest 1 screen would be things that are of importance...
