Probably the best advice I can offer to a novice is if you're not sure what the monitor is asking you to do, press no. This is handy when the monitor asks if "this is the same card erase and reformatIJ" Got stung by that one once and lost some data. Now, after some experience I know how I could have retrieved that data, but it was too late then. Also, when we first got ours I was always concerned that we get the calibration spot on which led to a lot of confusion when trying to learn how to run the monitor. If I had it all to do over, I would have familiarized myself with operating the monitor and then calibrated a week or two later. Chances are you'll be doing the same crop (I assume corn or beans) for awhile, so you can always do your cal loads later while you get used to operating the monitor. To do the cal loads, you need to weigh at least four loads, so even on your last field of that crop will work. The monitor will update all of the harvested yields so you can go back and look at what you've already done. Hope it helps

Sometimes the header height cut out control if it is set too low will not let the monitor read area and therefore no yield either. The other major factor is that the elevator shaft speed sensor must be sending a pulse for the monitor to realise that it is supposed to be recording info. My experience is mainly in the Agleader gear and this is where we generally look first for breakdowns. Is the unit beeping at youIJIJ
