I paid $495 to change the moisture sensor to the clean grain elevator. It was well worth it. In SB with green stems the moisture sensor would get covered with dirt and read high. Clean it of and it would be coverd again in a couple of rounds so it was useless. haven't had any trouble since changeing. Good luck

Is the moisture tester like a small auger that returns the sample back into the other side of the elevatorIJ I would like more info; Care to share by e-mailIJ Thank you. JWK

The moisture sensor I have on the side of the clean grain elevator is an Ag leader. I think grain comes in and is auger out by a small auger all on one side of the elevator. The unit is mounted only on on the side were grain is going up. It has a sensor that starts and stops the auger when so much grain is in the sensor. let me know if you have more questions.

I have run an Ag leader monitor for several years now. The afs sensor is an Ag leader part if I remember right. It augers the grain out of the up side and returns it in the down. Installation is very simple. A template locates all the holes you have to drill. I had to trim one bracket on my 1680 to make it easier to remove the sensor to check it. It stays pretty clean but you need to check it daily just in case. let me know if you have any questions. I sell Ag leader equipment and the AFS sytem is pretty similar.

The thing to keep in mind about precision farming technology is, there is no standard at work that enables competitive systems to be interchangeable between brands (i.e., a CaseIH AFS monitor working with AGCO Fieldstar yield monitor sensors or even an AFS yield monitoring system working on an AGCO combine, or any other non-CaseIH combine for that matter). Shortline_OEM manufacturers are the only ones with the marketable ability to have any interchangeability due to their market being only to develop and supply all brands with systems and technology (e.g. Ag leader, Micro-Trak, RDS, etc.). There are far too many specifics involved to try to make one color work with another regarding this type of information technology. The AFS system is designed and programmed specifically to the parameters and specifications of CaseIH products, just as Greenstar is to Deere only and Fieldstar to AGCO only. I have seen a green monitoring system on a red combine but it didn't work worth a darn... Always system errors. Until ISO 11783 can be standardized and in the marketplace, and you plan to continue working with multiple brands on your farm, I would suggest an Ag leader system as the whole farm solution for monitoring and control. I currently do not use Ag leader but have in the past and find them to be very good. I have stepped it up further to use Farm Works Software with an iPaq Windows based handheld computer for my monitoring and control. My lexion combine uses Farm Works software for its mapping software so my software use is seamless. Good luck

I think Ag leader supplies CIH with their combine yield monitoring stuff. Check with Ag leader for details.

You're correct. Ag leader is the primary supplier of yield monitor sensory technology for CaseIH combines, as well as New Holland combines in North America. Ag leader also provides programing that goes into the data processing for each system. However, the AFS terminal (i.e., the monitor) and the New Holland terminal are both proprietary designs. I am not sure who makes the CIH terminal, but I think Vansco makes the NH one.

I am curious as why you don't think you can make one brand work with anotherIJ I currently run a john deere greenstar on my gleaner R72. Works great. I have never had any trouble with it at all. I simply bought the john deere sensors and intalled them on a gleaner. Same reason as Chris. Had the john deere system come on the tractor so all I had to buy was the sensors for the combine. It will work. Kurt
