Good topic! I have been looking for the samething you are.I think it will be best to wait a year for more trial and error with others being the test rat first. But I am teachable. lets see what others have to say.I have not found a combine converted or tested with AFX.lol

We ran a 2388 this year with the AFX in corn and soybeans. It reduces the rumble to almost nothing in beans while increasing capacity. The limiting factors are engine horsepower and rotor drive belt slippage in beans. In corn, clean grain elevator capacity will limit ground speed. Overall I think it is alright and an improvement over the speciality rotor we used previous.

Neither! However, they replace the specialty rotor. It is no more.

larry you are mistaken on that the specialty rotor is still available for the '03 models. How do I know this, we ordered all of our new machines with specialty rotors for next year. And to clear up the air, an AFX rotor is a specialty rotor with an auger type impellor feed on the front instead of impellor blades. JFarms

No, the layout of the pads is different on the AFX, the rotor is offered with either standard pads or chrome pads for a $1000.00 Can. more, the chrome pads have a flatter angle on the leading face, is anyone here using the gordon bars in beans and what is your thoughts on them. Thanks

You may be right about 2003, but there is more to the AFX rotor than merely a different impeller system. It IS NOT a specialty rotor. The specialty rotor is not going to be offered in future production.

Sixteen Gorden(threshing) and fourteen (separator) bars do fit on the production AFX rotors for 2002. likely they will fit on the 2003 production as well. Some early pre-production AFX rotors had fewer pedestals than the specialty rotor. Gorden bars do not fit on those rotors.
